Rev. Dr.  Vanessa D. serves as the Pastor of Lamb of Life Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland.  Prior to being called to Lamb of Life, Dr. Booth served as an Associate Minister at the New Psalmist Baptist Church under the direction of Bishop Walter Scott Thomas, Sr., Pastor and Presiding Prelate for the Kingdom Association of Covenant Pastors.  Under his anointed leadership, she acknowledged her call to the ministry and preached her initial sermon, “Let Go and Let God” on March 8, 1998.  She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland. 

In September 2009, Dr. Booth was elected to serve as the second pastor of the Lamb of Life Baptist Church.  Under Dr. Booth’s leadership the church has grown significantly in membership and ministry.  She has instituted many new ministries including, but not limited to a Recovery Addictions Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Church Choir, Children’s Sunday school, Audio Ministry, Dance Ministry, Health and Wellness Ministry, Education and an Outreach Ministry as well as the traditional religious worship services.  She has ordained officers to the Diaconate Ministry, established the LOLBC Ministry Training School and licensed persons to the gospel ministry.  

          She has established partnerships with two local schools, Baltimore City School System’s – School Everyday! Program, Johns Hopkins Child and Adolescent Division to offer Parenting Classes, Powell Recovery Center, Valley Bridge House, Inc. and other community organizations.  These partnerships allow the church and community to collaborate on initiatives to better serve the East Baltimore community-at-large.

          Dr. Booth is an Executive Committee member of the Female Clergy Support Group of Maryland under the leadership of Dr. Karen S. Bethea, Set The Captives Free Outreach Center.  She served as an Executive Committee member of Sisters In Ministry, Inc. under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Leah E. White.  Both of these organizations are mentoring organizations for female leaders and women in ministry.  Dr. Booth is an active member of the Baltimore Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

         Dr. Booth is a native of Baltimore City where she received her early education.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computer Information Systems from the Notre Dame of Maryland University.  She earned a Master of Divinity degree and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Howard University School of Divinity in Washington, DC.  Her doctoral dissertation focused on “Domestic Violence in the Family of Faith.”  She is one of fifty students selected nationwide to participate in the Joe Engle Institute of Preaching at Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey, and she is a member of the Board of Directors for Powell Recovery Center.

        Dr. Booth retired in June 2012 as a Project Manager in the field of Information Technology at Constellation Energy Group after 32 years of service.   Dr. Booth is married to Dale Michael Booth.  Together, they have two daughters, Shanay and Danielle, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
